The Problem
The internet and social media are wonderful tools for connecting people and information. These tools are incredibly impactful, they have beneficial and detrimental impacts on users.
It is wonderful that these tools bring people together. But these tools are bringing people together based on shared beliefs. This is increasing the prevalence of confirmation bias among users of social media.
The Context
People have been forming communities effectively as long as people have existed. When a person interacts in a community, that person is given many opportunities to learn, grow and express their self.
Communities work together on shared goals. By working together on shared goals, people are more likely to succeed.
Communities that communicate openly and are diverse in thought and experience can catalyze the growth of community members. Catalyzed growth enables more success.
The Solution
Step 0: Ballshot - a mobile and web application for forming basketball communities, planning pick up basketball, and enhancing basketball.
